SKYRIVER COMMUNICATIONS EXPANDS WIRELESS BROADBAND ACCESS NETWORK IN SAN DIEGO

Enlarged footprint and new reseller partners fuel growth

SAN DIEGO--April 10, 2002

SkyRiver Communications, Inc., a wireless broadband network provider of low cost, high speed Internet access, today announced it has expanded its coverage in San Diego County an additional 22 percent. Approximately 100 square miles have been added to its footprint, and several new distributors have joined its San Diego-affiliate distribution program, including Southern California T1, Global Internet and Pacific Centrex.

SkyRiver wireless broadband coverage now extends to approximately 75 percent of San Diego County business areas. The expanded coverage area encompasses San Marcos, Vista, Oceanside, Coronado, Hillcrest, Uptown District, and additional sections downtown including the harbor area. By adding the harbor district, SkyRiver is now able to offer high-speed broadband access to people onboard boats, a service that has been unavailable through any wireline methods.

SkyRiver provides robust and secure high-speed Internet access at more cost-effective rates than traditional wireline carriers offering DSL and T-1 services. With comparable bandwidth availability and greater flexibility, SkyRiver offers its access service at retail rates up to 50% below comparable wireline offerings for a T-1. In addition, SkyRiver's service features symmetrical bandwidth, delivering the same throughput for both uploads and downloads.

Because it uses wireless technology, the service can be deployed quickly, with equipment and antennas installed at a customer's site and the service up-and-running within three business days. Wireline service generally takes three to six weeks lead time for installation and operation. Two data speeds are currently offered: 1.5 Mbps and 2.5 Mbps. Additional product offerings will be launched in mid-2002.

We have joined the SkyRiver distribution network because we clearly see the advantages for small-to-midsized businesses to use its service," said Karl Albright from Southern California T1. Now smaller companies will be able to get the same quality high speed access that larger companies enjoy, at half the cost.

The new resellers complement SkyRiver's current roster of distributors, which have offered broadband access service to San Diego businesses in UTC, La Jolla, Kearney Mesa, Mission Valley, El Cajon, Santee, and parts of downtown since November 2001. SkyRiver recently launched service in the greater Ontario, CA market; additional markets in California will be launched in the second and third quarters of 2002.

SkyRiver provides a cost-effective and reliable means for its distribution partners to increase revenue and profitability by rapidly and aggressively offering lower-cost broadband access service, enabling them to extend coverage and capability beyond their existing wireline access options to effectively penetrate the last-mile for new and existing customers. In addition, SkyRiver gives its partners a means for growth. As it moves into new markets, its partners will be offered the opportunity to move into those markets with them.

Devin Semler, CEO of Pacific Centrex stated, "I am also ecstatic about the ease of installation with the three day turn-around. From order to online in less than five days is amazing!"

Semler then added, "SkyRiver service is perfect for any business that has dozens of concurrent Web users, sends or receives large graphic or database files, or uses-delay sensitive applications such as ASP-hosted software, distance learning and real-time collaboration. In other words, any growing business."
