SKYRIVER COMMUNICATIONS LAUNCHES WIRELESS BROADBAND ACCESS NETWORK IN SAN DIEGO
Wireless Broadband Access is Now Available to SOHO and Small-to-Medium Size Businesses
SAN DIEGO - November 6, 2001
SkyRiver Communications, Inc., a San Diego based, emerging wholesale wireless broadband carrier, today announced it has deployed and is operating a "last-mile" access network in San Diego County. SkyRiver broadband access service is now available to SOHO (small office/home office) and small-to-medium size businesses through its distribution channel partners, which include Cari.net, Myrient and zNet.
SkyRiver offers robust, secure and symmetrical high-speed Internet access to support an "always on," rich data, audio and video medium. This fixed wireless broadband network provides access service well beyond the reach of current cable and DSL networks at a lower cost, with higher bandwidth availability and flexibility.
"We are clearly doing business the old fashioned way. First, we determined what our customers needed and then we executed," said Lee Gopadze, president and CEO of SkyRiver Communications. "We had our team meet face-to-face with our target market in San Diego to make sure we were delivering a service that was needed when, how and where they wanted it."
As a fixed wireless, wholesale carrier, SkyRiver offers an "open access" broadband network to service providers, enabling them to extend coverage and capability beyond their existing wire line access options. Furthermore, SkyRiver provides a cost-effective and reliable means for its distribution partners, such as ISPs, DSL resellers, residential developers and commercial property management firms, to increase revenue and profitability by rapidly and aggressively offering broadband access service and effectively penetrating the last-mile for new and existing customers.
"We have successfully developed relationships with several key broadband service providers in San Diego to introduce our new service to potential customers," said Matt Going, vice president of business development. "Through our distribution partners, we can quickly and cost effectively link small-to-medium business and SOHO customers to our service within a week."
SkyRiver's current network includes, but is not limited to San Diego's high-density geographical locations such as Kearny Mesa, El Cajon and the UTC area. Please contact one of SkyRiver's distribution partners listed at www.skyrivercom.com, to determine what areas are covered.
