Skyriver Management Profiles
Saeed Khorami, CEO and President
Saeed Khorami took the helm of Skyriver in 2006 as CEO and President. Mr. Khorami brings extensive wireless telecommunications knowledge and experience to Skyriver. Since joining the company, he has been instrumental in leading innovation, quality improvement and growth. With advanced study and hands-on experience in engineering, wireless network performance and business management, Mr. Khorami has enabled Skyriver to achieve industry-leading quality service levels. He has implemented rigorous testing standards to ensure that network planning and operations is based on real-world labs versus ideal-environments. He has helped network equipment suppliers improve product design for enhanced performance and reliability, and he has developed a team and service operation that is quick, agile and skilled to respond to customer needs and industry developments.
Prior to his tenure at Skyriver, Mr. Khorami served as a member of the investment team at BridgeWest LLC, a private equity investment company focused on emerging wireless technologies, where he was responsible for spectrum acquisition as well as wireless telecommunications investments in domestic and international markets.
Mr. Khorami also spent five years with Wireless Facilities, Inc., a global leader in telecommunications outsourcing, where he specialized in the design, deployment and operation of cellular and broadband wireless networks, as well as licensing and FCC regulations.
Mr. Khorami received his Bachelor's and Master of Science degrees in Electrical Engineering from Sharif University of Technology, one of the most prestigious engineering universities in the world.
Adam Gickling is the company's Chief Financial Officer. He oversees all finance and accounting functions at the company and works closely with Skyriver's Board of Directors and executive management team to develop and implement the company's overall strategic direction. With his leadership and business acumen, he fuels a strong organizational structure that's adept at planning, efficiency, agility and customer responsiveness.
Adam's business insights, coupled with investment prioritization for service enhancements and research and development, plus skilled negotiations, help Skyriver deliver a first-rate broadband service while maintaining organizational efficiency.
Additionally, Adam oversees the accounting and billing departments. He manages an experienced team that shares his commitment to open and honest communication with customers and partners, and accuracy and integrity above all.
Prior to joining Skyriver, Adam served as Chief Investment Officer at BridgeWest LLC, a venture capital investment company focused on emerging wireless technologies. In this capacity, Adam filled various operational and Board roles for BridgeWest's portfolio companies including serving as CFO for Polexis, a San Diego-based software company. Adam also spent four years as an investment banker with Houlihan Lokey Howard & Zukin where he worked on a variety of transactions for private and public companies with aggregate value in excess of $1 billion. Adam earned his MBA at UCLA and holds a BS in Commerce from the University of Virginia.
Hugo Morales is Vice President of Operations. "Ultimate Customer Advocate" is the true definition of how Hugo executes his job. In every situation, Hugo's drive is to resolve issues with the least customer impact. He works diligently to do the best job for his customers, and through his effort, they witness firsthand how much he cares.
Utilizing his strong organizational, leadership and mentoring skills, Hugo has created a customer care team that shares his passion for helping customers. Hugo truly personifies a leader who is focused and purposeful with sensitivity to understand and assist in the challenges others face. This unique combination, along with his strong sense of organizational loyalty makes Hugo a vital asset to the company.
Hugo served in various management and operational roles critical to the launch and success of wired, cable and wireless networks for more than 15 years before joining Skyriver. Prior to joining Skyriver, Hugo worked for Cox Communications, where he helped launch the Cox Business Services Organization in San Diego. In this capacity, he held responsibility for new product development, new construction builds, sales support and overall project management. Hugo also worked as Regional Communication Manager for GTECH Corp. where he was responsible for the launch and operations of multiple Lottery Network infrastructures in the western U.S. region.
Jenny Bourbiel is Vice President of Marketing, overseeing marketing, public relations, product management and customer relationship programs for Skyriver. As a lifetime marketer and technology enthusiast, she bonds smart customer insights and creative thinking to connect people with Skyriver services in profound and lasting ways. Her customer centric initiatives have strengthened new customer growth as well as customer loyalty.
Jenny brings a wealth of marketing knowledge to Skyriver, in both executive and brand management roles with leading consumer and technology brands including Verizon Wireless, Hilton Hotels, DirecTV, WD-40, and AT&T Wireless. At AT&T Wireless, she managed the marketing strategy for next generation wireless services, including the launch of the American Idol partnership that fueled the popularity of texting in the U.S.
Prior to joining Skyriver, Jenny was a Marketing Consultant, working with companies such as Cox Business, where her campaigns earned the CTAM Marketing Excellence Gold Award. Previously Jenny held the position of Marketing Vice President for Buzztime, an interactive online gaming company.
Jenny's passion for marketing extends to her community involvement. She has sat on various marketing committees, and was on the Board of Directors for the Arts Center Foundation. Jenny holds a B.S. Degree in Business Administration from San Diego State University with an emphasis in Marketing and a minor in Spanish.
BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Dr. Massih Tayebi is Chairman of the Board of Directors. Dr. Tayebi is also Chairman and CEO of BridgeWest LLC, a private equity investment company focused on emerging wireless technologies. Prior to BridgeWest, Dr. Tayebi was Co-Founder and Chairman of Wireless Facilities, Inc. (NASDAQ: WFI), a global leader in telecommunications outsourcing. Prior to his tenure at WFI, Dr. Tayebi served as Technical Manager for Computer Integrated Management Systems with responsibility for product lifecycle management.
Previously, Dr. Tayebi held a senior faculty position at the University of Paisley in Great Britain. He earned a Ph.D. and an MS degree from the University of Strathclyde in Great Britain. In 2000, Dr. Tayebi was also recognized as the San Diego Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year.
Sr. Vice President, General Counsel & Secretary
Jim Edwards joined Cubic in February 2008 as Vice President and General Counsel of Cubic Transportation Systems. He was named to his current position at Cubic in February 2012. Prior to joining Cubic, Mr. Edwards served as SVP and General Counsel of Kratos Defense, and previously as Senior Legal Counsel for Qualcomm Incorporated. Prior to joining Qualcomm, Mr. Edwards served as Vice President, General Counsel & Secretary of Wireless Knowledge, Inc., a Qualcomm subsidiary; Vice President, General Counsel & Secretary of Vapotronics, Inc., a developer of medical device technologies; Vice President, General Counsel & Secretary of General Atomics, an energy and defense contractor; and General Counsel & Secretary of Logicon, Inc., a defense contractor.
Mr. Edwards is a graduate of the University of San Diego, School of Law, where he received his Juris Doctorate, and of Colorado State University, where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology, cum laude.
